Careers at Sizzle

Build software communities actually use.

We are a small studio in Manchester, MO, shipping community products since 2002. If you like real customers and clear work, look at our open roles.

The company

Sizzle builds software for schools, faith communities, and nonprofits. We run SignUpGo and SchoolConferenceGo ourselves, support live sites through Care, and take on enterprise builds when the whole system needs fixing, not just one night.

Reliability is the product. We have worked with 100+ organizations over 23 years. The work is practical, the bar is high, and the team stays small on purpose.

Perks

We keep benefits simple and human. Here is what you can expect when you join.

  • Flexible and remote-friendly

Work from where you do your best work. We care about outcomes, not desk time.

  • Real products in the wild

SignUpGo, SchoolConferenceGo, and Care run in schools and organizations every day. You sell what we actually operate.

  • Small team, short path to yes

No layers of approval theater. You talk to the people who build and ship.

  • Direct access to leadership

Bear and the studio are reachable. Questions get answered. Ideas get heard.

  • Commission-friendly sales culture

You are rewarded for closing real work that helps communities, not for padding a pipeline.

  • Sales desk built for reps

Your pipeline, closed deals, and commissions live in one private portal view. You see what you earned. We see what to pay.

  • Tools that do not fight you

We pick software that stays out of the way so you can spend time with customers.

Open roles

We hire Sales Reps by region as capacity opens. More state and territory listings will appear here over time. One role is open now.

Help schools, faith communities, and nonprofits find the right Sizzle product or build. Own discovery, demos, and closing in your territory.

About the role

Sizzle is a community software company based in Manchester, MO. We have shipped brands, websites, and now SaaS products for schools, faith communities, and nonprofits since 2002. SignUpGo and SchoolConferenceGo are live in real organizations every day. Care keeps client sites watched and current. Enterprise builds replace the duct tape when one night is not the problem.

This Sales Rep role is for someone who can open doors in those rooms, run honest demos, and close work that fits. You are not filling a CRM with fake pipeline. You are finding real buyers, qualifying hard, and helping communities get software that shows up when it matters.

The role is remote-friendly across the United States. You will work closely with Bear and a small studio. Wins are shared. Surprises are not.

What you sell

  • SignUpGo: clutter-free school and org sign-ups. No ads, no parent accounts.
  • SchoolConferenceGo: conference night without the shared spreadsheet.
  • Sizzle Care: ongoing website care, monitoring, and plugin coverage for organizations we already support.
  • Enterprise Discovery and fixed-price builds when the whole system needs fixing, not just one product.

A typical week

  • Prospect schools, churches, nonprofits, and community venues in your territory.
  • Use your network first. Warm intros beat cold lists.
  • Book and run demos. Teach the product in plain language.
  • Log deals in Sales desk, keep the pipeline honest, and report weekly on activity and closes.
  • Hand won work to delivery so kickoff is clean. Stay in the loop until the customer feels set.
  • Tell us when a deal is a bad fit. Protecting the studio is part of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Own outbound and inbound follow-up in your territory.
  • Qualify needs against our products and Discovery scope. Price and scope stay honest.
  • Close SignUpGo, SchoolConferenceGo, Care, and Discovery when the fit is real.
  • Keep Sales desk current so commissions and weekly reports match reality.
  • Represent Sizzle in person or on video with the same bar we hold for product quality.

Requirements

  • Proven sales experience, ideally B2B, education, faith, nonprofit, or community software.
  • A real network (or a concrete plan) into schools, churches, or nonprofits in your territory.
  • Comfort hunting your own pipeline and working on commission.
  • Clear writing and follow-through. Emails get answered. Promises get kept.
  • Ability to demo software without jargon and to say no when the fit is wrong.
  • US work authorization and willingness to travel occasionally for key meetings or events.

You will thrive here if

  • You like talking to real people more than writing decks.
  • You already know principals, PTA leaders, pastors, nonprofit directors, or the vendors who sell into those rooms.
  • You are competitive without being pushy. Community buyers smell hype.
  • You want to sell products you would actually recommend to someone you respect.

Sales desk

Every rep gets a private Sales desk in the Sizzle portal. It is where your pipeline, closed deals, and commissions live so you are not chasing spreadsheets or wondering what got paid.

  • See your pipeline and won deals in one place, scoped to you only.
  • Commissions are created when a deal is marked won, using your plan rates.
  • Track pending, approved, and paid status so payouts are visible, not mysterious.
  • Log recurring product periods as customers renew, so ongoing commission stays accurate.
  • Spend time selling. Leave the ledger to a tool built for this role.

Compensation & payment terms

This role is commission-forward. Territory assignment and any base (if offered) are confirmed with strong applicants after we review your CV. The commission plan below is the starting standard.

  • 15% commission on collected revenue for one-time closes (for example Discovery Sprint and fixed-price enterprise builds).
  • 10% commission on collected revenue for recurring products (for example SignUpGo, SchoolConferenceGo, and Sizzle Care), for up to 12 paid periods per deal.
  • Commission is based on what the customer actually pays (collected), not just the quote.
  • Deals and commissions are tracked in Sales desk. Payouts are approved and marked paid by leadership on a manual schedule (no mystery spreadsheet).
  • Inactive reps do not earn new commission. Rates and territory can be adjusted by agreement as you grow.
