Zipscribe Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Zipscribe, an AI transcription service operated by Sizzle ("we," "us"). They supplement the general Sizzle Terms of Service and Privacy Policy; where this page conflicts with the general terms for the Zipscribe service, this page controls. By creating an account or uploading content to Zipscribe, you agree to these terms.

The service

Zipscribe accepts audio and video that you upload or link (including from third-party platforms such as YouTube) and produces machine-generated transcripts, summaries, and related outputs using automated speech-recognition and language models. Features, plan limits, and processing time vary by plan and may change over time.

Accounts

You must provide a valid email and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to purchase a paid plan.

Your content and rights

You keep ownership of the audio, video, and files you submit and of the transcripts generated from them ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, copy, transmit, and process Your Content solely to operate the service for you, including sending it to our third-party AI processing providers to generate your results. We do not sell Your Content or use it to train our own models.

You represent and warrant that you own or have all rights, consents, and permissions needed to submit Your Content and to have it transcribed, including any consent required to record or process the voices of people in your recordings. You are solely responsible for complying with recording-consent, wiretap, privacy, and copyright laws that apply to your material. You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or that you lack the right to process, and not to use the service to violate anyone's privacy or intellectual-property rights.

Acceptable use

Do not use Zipscribe to transcribe content you are not authorized to access, to circumvent the access controls or terms of any third-party platform, to process material depicting the sexual abuse of minors, or in any way that violates law. Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, resell, or overload the service or its API beyond your plan's limits. We may throttle, suspend, or remove content or accounts that we reasonably believe violate these terms.

AI accuracy: no guarantee

Transcripts, summaries, speaker labels, timestamps, and SEO outputs are generated by automated systems and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. They are provided for your convenience and are not a certified or verbatim record. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting outputs before relying on them, and you should not use them as the sole basis for legal, medical, financial, or other consequential decisions without independent verification.

Plans, billing & renewals

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through our payment processor, Stripe, at the price shown at checkout. Each plan includes a monthly transcription allowance (measured in minutes/hours of audio); usage beyond your allowance may be blocked until your allowance resets or you upgrade. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until you cancel. You authorize us to charge your payment method for each renewal.

You can cancel at any time from your account or by contacting us; cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable, and unused allowance does not roll over or carry a cash value. We may change plan prices or features on prospective notice; changes take effect on your next renewal.

API access

If your plan includes API access, you must keep your API keys secret and are responsible for all usage authorized by your keys. We may rate-limit, rotate, or revoke keys to protect the service. Usage through the API counts against your plan's allowance.

Data retention

We retain Your Content and generated transcripts to provide the service and while your account is active. You may delete individual transcripts at any time. When you delete content or close your account, we remove it from active systems within a reasonable period, except for content we must retain by law or that persists briefly in routine backups. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty as to the accuracy or reliability of transcription outputs. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for Zipscribe in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Changes & termination

We may modify these terms or the service; material changes will be posted here with an updated date, and continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms or to comply with law. You may stop using the service at any time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue for disputes is in courts located in St. Louis County or the City of St. Louis, Missouri.
